Technical Sales Support Engineers (2)

The role is to provide technical sales support to the Project Field Sales Engineers and their UK and overseas customer base for Ex-Or products (state-of-the-art lighting control products inluding lighting management systems, energy-saving presence detectors, architectural dimming, emergency lighting testing and monitoring systems and LCM-based systems).

To provide systems application and design, estimating, equipment scheduling through to quotation within tender return deadlines

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support via our technical helpline to our UK and overseas customer base
  • Providing application engineering support to the Sales Team
  • Systems application and design, estimating and equipment scheduling (take-offs etc) through to quotation
  • Ability to understand electrical specifications, luminaire schedules and lighting floor plan drawings
  • Time/workload management
  • Complete all administration accurately and on time


    • Key Deliverables

  • Receipt of tender package through to quotation within a return deadline
  • Systems application and design, estimating and equipment scheduling (take-offs etc) through to quotation
  • Liaising with Project Sales Engineers to complete the design, application and quotation of the project


    • Skill Set

  • Ability to understand the concepts of control systems
  • Experience of lighting and its technologies (but not necessarily controls) preferred
  • Capable of reading and understanding tender packages
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to use CAD is a distinct advantage - or willingness to be trained in this skill
  • Self-motivated, proactive, energetic, results-driven individual with a record of success in similar role
  • Be self-disciplined and able to use your own initiative
  • Effective and efficient time management with high level of organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Excellent communicator with both internal staff, field-based staff and customers
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
